Joins us at our Hands Off Our Schools Organizing Summit.
Public schools are strongholds of democracy, free speech, and community building, which is why the federal government and billionaires want to dismantle them. Repression is rapidly increasing throughout the country and we need to be prepared to defend and resist. We need to be ready to consistently keep our marginalized students and staff safe, protect our academic freedom, keep our schools funded, and get ready to act when our rights are infringed on.
At this event we’ll come together to build relationships, process what’s happening and participate in specific training that will support us to defend our communities and organize to protect against attacks on our public schools. We are planning to have skill based training on sanctuary schools, planning a walkout, community organizing, and more. This is a free event with free childcare and free lunch service.
Who: This summit is for educators, youth (middle and high school or younger if interested), family members, and community members. Everyone has a role and a stake in defending schools, students, and educators. We encourage you to register with members of a group if you are part of one or you’re welcome to come as an individual.
